Chhapaak movie is based on the Laxmi Agarwal acid attack story. Bollywood actress ‘Deepika Padukone is played the role of Laxmi in her biopic and also turned producer with the film and directed by Meghana Gulzar. And Vikrant Massey also role her Boyfriend Alok Dixit. The film is titled Chhapaak and release on 10th January 2020.
Hunger strike and campaign against acid violence
Laxmi Agarwal along with other acid attack survivors started a hunger strike demanding immediate justice and rehabilitation for acid attack survivors. She had also written a poem, in which she describing her situation during the incident.
She was achieved ‘International Women of Courage Award’, she was praised by then U.S first lady Michelle Obama and others for her campaign against acid violence.
