MADHURJEET SARGI got popular because of her role in the movie Chapaak cast in 2020. She was the lawyer of the acid attack survivor Malti. She acted as Malti’s lawyer Archana Bajaj, whose continuous efforts bring justice to acid attack survivors. Because of the continuous efforts of the lawyer, the government had to amend Sec 236 for acid attack survivors by increasing the imprisonment from 5-7 years to 10 years to lifetime. Madhurjeet Shargi acted so well that led the people to think that it is not just a movie, but reality lived by people watching it. It drew attention to the people and created awareness among them how they should treat and support acid attack survivors and make the world a better place for them to live in.

FAMILY AND MARITAL STATUS

Being a native of Jalandhar in Punjab, Madhurjeet Sarghi comes from a family that has shaped Punjab’s film industry. Madhurjeet Sarghi is married to her childhood friend and Punjab’s leading director Anurag Singh, who produced the Punjabi blockbusters:  1984 Punjab National Award winner, Jatt and Juliet Series, Super Singh, Disco Singh and will now direct Karan Johar’s historical epic, Kesari, based on the battle. Madhurjeet Sarghi was staged with Akshay Kumar. Sarghi’s father,  veteran  Punjabi director Harjit Singh, has directed films such as Eh Janam Tumhare Lekhe and Heer Ranjha, and his brother Param Singh recently made his debut with Bhalwan Singh. Always making unconventional choices, Madhurjeet Sargi wants a high-profile role. At first, she wanted to follow her father and become a director like him.But when he made his first academic game, he realized that the actor was his passion.Besides acting, she loves to do narration in the movies.This is her favorite character. She says she likes Bollywood actors Nasaruddin Shah, Ranbir Kapoor and Konkana Sen Sharma very much and would love to work with them. Currently, she only does theater. She also worked as a casting director for the 1984 film Punjab  and it was the first project  she worked on behind the camera.

She enjoys watching movies and considers herself a big movie fan. Acting is sacred to her  and has made her  a better person.She says that If she hadn’t been an actress, she would have become an unhappy and frustrated person. 

CAREER

In the film Manto, MADHURJEET SARGI played the role of Manto’s beloved sister, Nasira Iqbal. It is a small role in which there is only one scene where the sister and brother, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, stand in front of their mother’s grave and meet after many years. But she made a small lasting impression on the mind of viewers. The movie got certain awards in the Indian and International Cinemas. She had done few small roles in Agneepath (2012)  in Firaaq (2009) and Summer 2007(2008) as well and acted so well in all the roles that left a lasting impression on the viewers.

Madhurjeet Sargi played the role of Santosh from Na Aana Iss Des Laado. The current role is about her and it was almost perfect. She has a huge talent show and forces you to watch her. Everyone commend the efforts of this show’s team to put together a great cast. Virtually everyone who plays a supporting role shows great talent.
